Lovely Bones Screeches To A Halt

So Peter Jackson's post-Rings/Kong letdown-in-the-making 'The Lovely Bones' has ground to a halt in NZ as the bearded one and his art director have themselves a tete-a-tete about how best to portray heaven onscreen.

The story, if you don't know, centres on a 13-year-old girl (played by Carlow's Saoirse Ronan) who's been murdered and is looking down on her grieving family from up in the clouds.

The project had been 'troubled' since early doors, when leading man Ryan Gosling was axed days before shooting began - because he was in 'The Notebook' - and was replaced in the role of dead girl's dad by Mark Wahlberg - who does whiny/morose/angry very well.

But this delay shouldn't take that long. Fair enough for a 13-year-old girl, heaven may be all puppies and what not, but sensible folk like Jackson will soon realise that there must also be a grown-up heaven, and that it can only be portrayed one way - rampant shagging.
