Inglorious Basterds Trailer - God That Was Quick

We posted the first footage from Inglorious Basterds just the other day and predicted an avalanche of promotional materials. We couldn't have predicted the snows would shift so soon. As promised we won't be inflicting every last piece of needless PR on you but we thought you might want to see the trailer.

Hard to know what to make of all of this. It looks like loads of fun but will it be anything more? We had a great time watching Kill Bill. We even got a kick out of Death Proof and saw it for what it was. It would be great to see old Quentin doing something as nuanced as Jackie Brown or as inventive and vibrant as Pulp Fiction rather than just doing cool shit on auto pilot. We can't say for certain but this looks ominously like it could fall into the latter category.

And what's with the little camera move and step-in when Brad Pitt says he will have his scalps? Are we the only ones who feel the stench of contrivance. We are worried Quentin. Deliver us from trepidation and grant us good cinema. Amen.
