Every year there are a number of films that break out of that coolest of cool festivals (and not just cause of the freezing January weather) Sundance. If you want to be in the know about what will be the breakout indie hits of the year, then you best bone up on this list of 23 Buzz Films From Sundance courtesy of Empire.
Why 23 you ask? Why not 20? Why not 10? Well for starters it seems it's early days in Utah so none of these films have actual audience or sales buzz about them just yet. That list usually comes down to about 5 to 10 films. These are more like pre-festival hot tips i.e the one's with interesting combinations of talent, intriguing premises or seriously good PR people. It seems Empire are hedging their bets for the moment. If you say everything is a buzz movie then you won't miss the breakout. Anyway, check it out and impress/bore your friends with all year with your advance buzz on any indie movie that so much as threatens to become a breakout hit.
