Further to this story of shameless bullshit from the British gutter press, we can now report officially that the supposed news that Cher will be the next Catwoman and Jonny Depp will be the Riddler and the next movie will be called The Caped Crusader is, yes you've guessed it, utter bullshit.
The Hollywood Reporter says that 'The Dark Knight' director Christopher Nolan is currently on holidays and no decision will be made until his return.
Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter about another film in the franchise, 'The Dark Knight' producer Chuck Roven said: "There are a lot of us who emotionally would love to do it. But it's really Chris' call. Chris is the kind of filmmaker who just doesn't think about the next movie before he has completely finished the movie he is working on."
He added: "When he comes back, we will see how he feels."
So obviously he's been having meetings with Cher and Jonny Depp and writing scripts and coming up with titles while he's been on holidays. Man journalists are lazy sometimes (well particularly tabloid gossip journalists). It couldn't take that much effort to find out Nolan was on holidays and your 'source' was having you on. But then what would you fill your paper with. The truth?
