Blindness Trailer

Fernando Mereilles is a director with an unblemished track record. Every single movie he has made has been nothing short of brilliant! Okay, he's only made 2 movies but anybody who can put City Of God and The Constant Gardener on their CV can lay claim to an extremely solid track record. Fair enough, we could lie and put them on our CV and God knows it wouldn't be the first embellishment - but nobody is going to give us 50 million to make a movie. Their loss!

Anyway, this one is called Blindness and though it got a somewhat mixed reaction at Cannes recently, the favourable reviews were near ecstatic. It's based on a best-selling novel by José Saramago about a global pandemic of contagious blindness. Of course the tagline of the trailer is 'the only thing worse than being blind is being the only one who can see'. Julianne Moore plays this 'afflicted' person, while Mark Ruffalo, Danny Glover and the always interesting Gael Garcia Bernal take up the supporting slots. Personally we'd take Julianne's deal of being the only one who could see in a heartbeat. Think of the opportunities. You could make a comedy ala The Invisible Man using the same material. Someone get Chevy Chase on the phone!...
What's that?
He's where?
Well tell him to get his ass out of the Salvation Army shelter. We smell a career resurrection.

City of God and The constant Gardener were cracking films. Please let this be good, The Happening has left a sour taste in my mouth for the 'mysterious deadly disease' film.
