Tahm Cruise is a Germerican

Here's the trailer for Valkyrie, which should (we repeat should) be really good. It's got Christopher McQuarrie and Bryan Singer - the team behind The Usual Suspects and many other good things in the world - behind it. It's got a stellar cast, a fascinating, based-on-true-events story and evil Nazi bad guys. What more could you want?

Here's just one thing. How about Tom Cruise not looking bloody ridiculous with a side-parting, a perm and a broad American accent playing a German Nazi good guy? If ever there was a chance to play a role that would take him away from being Tom Cruise (which is undoubtedly a liability these days) this was it. Instead he is unmistakably Tahm Cruise, except with extra silly thrown in.
