PGA Nominations

The Producer's Guild of America have just released their nominations for best film and if your wondering why you should care go to wikipedia and compare the PGA nods to the Oscar nods for the last 50 odd years. They are usually extremely similar, so consider these 5 films favourites for Oscar nods.
THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON
THE DARK KNIGHT
FROST/NIXON
MILK
SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE
Of course, what this proves is that voters have the memory of amnesiac goldfish. 4 of the five films have been released in the last month in America. They must have quite literally voted for the last 5 films they saw. The Dark Knight was just released on DVD. Of course none of these 4 films have made it to Europe yet so we can't comment on quality, though we must say, it is refreshing to see an action/adventure movie (a superhero movie no less) get nominated in the shape of The Dark Knight It would be a huge leap forward if Oscar did likewise. It's not the film that some fanboys would like to believe it is (i.e. the film to end all films. God's gift to man and God is Chris Nolan) but it's a damn fine example of the form. About as thoughtful and entertaining as the genre gets.

As for the rest of the films, we'll quite literally, wait and see.
