The Damned United Looks Damned Good
We will watch anything written by Peter Morgan (he of Frost/Nixon and The Queen) and we will watch anything with Michael Sheen in it (except Underworld). Thankfully, Michael Sheen seems to be in anything written by Peter Morgan so it kills two birds with one stone. Both men seem to specialise in portraying real-life people in moments in history that crystalise their lives and say something altogether more profound than a traditional biopic. We've liked everything they've done together so far and we can only assume that this will continue their run of form. It looks playful and funny and could turn out to be one of the very few good films about football.
What are the bets on a title change for the conservative Bible-Belt audience of America, if it ever gets released there. My bet is it will, based on quality alone. Nobody would have thought The Queen would have been an international success but they pulled that one off.
