Prepare To Have Your Heart Warmed...On A Seriously Low Budget

We've seen some heartwarming low budget indies in our time, where B-list actors get a chance to show off their chops while acting in plots where nothing much happens in small towns where an unusual connection transforms some character in such, small, subtle ways that we barely even notice. Some are great, some are tedious, all claim to be heartwarming.

Never have we seen one that looks as low-key and low budget as The Village Barbershop. I'm surprised they had enough money to put petrol in the car to get to set, let alone to afford to have a camera there to film the actors. Although, the actors are so R-list (that's right they're not even notably z-list) that they probably weren't paid. They were presumably happy just to be out of the house.

The titles make big, bold claims about how much this will move you and maybe they are right but we're sitting on the fence on this one...with our legs dangling over the cynical side. Still, it's got John Ratzenberger (aka Cliff Clavin and Mr Potato Head) so how bad can it be?

FYI, John Ratzenberger wasn't Mr. Potato Head, Don Rickles was.
Interesting looking movie though.
