Duplicity Trailer

We've heard this teaming up of Clive Owen, Julia Roberts and director Tony Gilroy described as a thriller but judging by the trailer it looks more like a lighthearted caper in the vein of Mr & Mrs Smith or Oceans 11. Tony Gilroy's last outing was the uber serious Michael Clayton and this looks like it has the plot line of a serious movie along with Owen (who rarely ventures into comedy) so we have a sneaky suspicion the trailer is playing a sneaky trick on us. The old bait and switch. The same trick that Changing Lanes pulled when the trailer tried to convince us that it was a cat & mouse thriller, instead of the slow burning ethical drama it was. There are countless other examples.

Maybe we're wrong, in which case this looks like it could be good fun. But then so did The House Bunny and we all know how that turned out. Let's never speak of this again.
