Well, it was going to happen, after the success of this summers other phenomenon ‘Sex and The City’ and ‘Mamma Mia’ the studios are rolling out the chic-lit adaptations. Don’t say that when in your local cinema hole you didn’t notice an unusual amount of over dressed women flocking in and out of the toilets? No, they hadn’t found the secret passage to some Narnia-like nightclub, they were watching ‘Sex and The City’ in their droves. Some of us have been calling it ‘Girl Star Wars’, where the girls got to play dress up and (gracefully) drool into their fake Prada bags with excitement of spending two and a half hours with their best on screen pals… They have a right to be geeks too boys… And did any of you hear some strange, out of tune, murmuring as you passed the ‘Mamma-Mai’ screen?
Yes, as much as this summer was the summer of the Bat, it was also the summer of the chic flick. And here is the next potential monster hit, ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’, starring the talented Isla Fisher. Being your Movie Watchmen, we’re just warning you in advance.
