Darren Aronofsky's latest movie (before he takes on Robocop) The Wrestler won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film festival last night, sending our expectation levels into the stratosphere until they inevitably crash back down to earth like Mickey Rourke's career did in the 90's. Why the token Rourke reference? Because he plays an aging wrestler (hence the imaginative title) in one of the most perfect pieces of casting since I won the national fishing championships in 1994*
We're always excited about Aronofsky's work but when it's looks this cool and is now garnering awards our heads might just explode.
* Note the record books may show that some other person won it but seriously I'm not lying. I just had my name changed to avoid all my female stalkers. If one more model/actress gets their hands on my number Goddamnit I'll change it again.
