Knowing Trailer

Alex Proyas, the director of Dark City (see our DVD Bulletin for all the reasons why that movie is ace) is back after a relatively lengthy absence following the decidedly average I Robot. Here's the trailer for his latest, Knowing starring Nic Cage and his impossibly large forehead. The movie has an intriguing premise that the trailer can tell you all about. It looks either brilliant, with at least one impressive and enticing setpiece or silly in a Number 23 sort of way. We're a little worried. This one involves Nic Cage deciphering number sequences. That's surely gonna lead to a lot of brow furrowing. Couldn't ripples on landmasses that size amount to potentially disastrous seismic activity. I wonder will his numbers predict that disaster.

And what's with the title? Knowing!? That's like calling a movie Thinking or Deciding. It's just a boring verb. At least Running implies some sort of drama. Altogether now. Knowing Me, Knowing You Aha!!...On that bombshell etc.
