Keanu Reeves is Braindead...Again
Guess what, Neo is back! Kind of. Keanu Reeves is starring in a new movie in which he basically plays Neo from the Matrix again again. It seems casting directors around Hollywood have now moved his typecasting from 'braindead DUDE' to braindead, po-faced, humourless semi-human drone who is somehow vital to the survival of the human race. See Constantine for further evidence. Anyway, here's the trailer for the remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still. The original was a 1050's sci-fi Red's Under The Bed allegory. Who's betting this has somehthing to do with post 9/11 America. It also stars Jennifer Connelly and manages to have just about no daytime shots. Can't that sort of thing induce blindness?

I'll just take my tongue from my cheek for a moment to say that it's not a comment on the character, it's a comment about Keanu Reeves and his increasingly narrow range. And yes, I've seen the original and we'll see if this lives up to it (which it may well do. I'm not writing it off.). Okay, time to put my tongue back in my cheek and go write another silly post.
