With the Sex And The City women cleaning up at the box office (no jokes about how that's where they belong...Suppose we just made one...Ooops) and news that Mark Wahlberg is planning a movie adaptation of the male version of Sex and The City, Entourage* there's a lot of debate about what actually makes a good TV to Film adaptation. With that in mind, it seems like as good a time as any to post this link to The Top 50 TV Adaptations of all time.
*Sure you can debate that Entourage is very different from Sex and The City and that's cause it is. Like we said, it's a male version, so the concerns are different. It may not be fashion porn or just general consumer porn like SATC but it comes close. There are enough sequences of car porn and almost real porn (many many hot women) for it to be general escapist wish-fulfilment for men, just like SATC is for women. Sure, Entourage is simply funnier. Sure, Sex and The City doesn't have a character as memorable as Ari. Sure, the early episodes of Entourage aren't complete rip-offs of Woody Allen's movies. And sure, the story arcs are a little less soapy than SATC, but we're gonna come right out and say it. Maybe we think Entourage is better than Sex and The City because it's aimed squarely at us.
No jokes about how you'd like to aim squarely at the SATC girls and pull the trigger...Oh shit, we did it again.
