If movie studios could they would kill your children and eat them. At least that's my understanding based on their attitude to green lighting movies. News broke today a sequel to Donnie Darko is going ahead. Donnie Darko was a singular work from a director that deliberately left the future to your imagination. We can't think of a worse candidate for the sequel treatment.
But hey, at least they've got the old team back...Wait...What's that? None of the original team are back? Not the writer/director. Not the star. Goddamn you. You won't take my kids alive!
Apparently the story revolves around Donnie's younger sister Samantha and so the movie will be called S. Darko. (I'm not too bright, but as far as I can work out the S stands for shit) her high school friend begins to have sinister visions just like Donnie and the ground is clear for much re-threading. Look forward to seeing this in a bargain bin in a video store near you.
