Anyone out there who owned an Amiga will know the fiendish torture that is Prince of Persia: a bastard hard platform/adventure game with 'groundbreaking' graphics from back in the dizzay. The modern versions as Sands of Time have inspired no less a big wig than Jerry Bruckheimer to transplant the game to the big screen, with Jake Gyllenhaal taking on the titular role. Brit director Mike Newell (Four Weddings, Donnie Brasco) is also attached.
With such a trinity of proven talent, can the filthy, degenerate genre of video game adaptations finally emerge from its grimy cave?
