Leatherheads may not be commercially successful, it may not even be a good movie but it doesn’t take away from the fact that George Clooney has been the best actor working in Hollywood over the past decade.
Despite this we are not surprised by the fact that Leatherheads may not live up to expectation. His last homage to films past, The Good German, may have looked like an Orson Wells film but it also failed to capture the magic of films like The Third Man. The ludicrous casting of Spiderman as the tough guy didn’t help. Anyway I think Leatherheads is actually Bull Durham, they just changed the names.
But one or two missteps apart, Intolerable Cruelty being another, Clooney has provided us with some great films of the 2000s; O Brother Where Art Thou, Confessions of Dangerous Mind, Good Night and Good Luck, Syriana and Michael Clayton. So we pay tribute to you George. By the way does anyone else think George is better looking than Renee?

Who's got the crush on Clooney? You're right though, Zellweger is way over-rated.
Best actor working in Hollywood? He's good, but surely the likes of Philip Seymour Hoffman could stake a claim to that.
Phillip Seymour Hoffman is a great actor. Despite the fact that he won the best actor Oscar for Capote most of his best films (Boogie Nights, 25th Hour, Happiness)have been in supporting roles. So Phillip Seymour Hoffman for best supporting actor!
