Christian Bale vs Macaulay Culkin

What do Macaulay Culkin and Christian Bale have in common? How easy would it be to take the piss out of that question? Its hard to imagine the snot nosed kid from Home Alone having anything in common with the hard hitting actor who brought us American Psycho. But they do - they were both accomplished child actors. In a list of the top 25 child actors recently compiled Bale and Culkin rank 20th and 2nd respectively (click on the headline above for a full list).

This is quite possibly the only acting related list where Culkin would be above Bale. In 1987 at the tender age of 13 Bale starred in Spielberg’s Empire of the Sun. Despite working consistently throughout his teens, it was not until American Psycho that Bale shot to fame. Since then Bale has been, to put it simply - savage.

There is more to come. As well as The Dark Knight Bale is set to star in Michael Mann’s Public Enemies where he plays an FBI agent trying to bring down a notorious gangster played by Johnny Depp. After that he stars as a Major in US armed forces involved in the assassination of Pablo Escobar (Javier Bardem) in Joe Carnahan’s Killing Pablo. And as if that wasn’t enough he is set to play John Connor in Terminator 4!
